The founder of 50 Great Greek Wines, Master of Wine Yiannis Karakasis states: “Gregory Michailos and I are delighted about the next 50 GGW, which consistently and methodically follows  the principles we had set to enhance the reputation of Greek wine. Actually this year we will be making some changes, always according to the principles we set at the start, to improve and develop the concept so as to make it more competitive on the international markets, that we are aiming at. These we will have more time to mention and explain in the near future”.

On his part, Christophe Heynen MW states: “I am very happy to participate in this year’s 50GGW and to join such a prestigious international team of wine experts. Over the last decade at least, Greek wine quality, focus and image have dramatically increased to an international audience. While partly still niche in many markets, wine consumers and connoisseurs around the world must further be informed about the huge potential and world-level quality of wines that Greece produces. I sincerely hope that my participation at 50 GGW will further underline this potential and that we may bring attention to what makes Greek wines so unique and worthy to purchase, globally”.

The aim of 50 Great Greek Wines is to hallmark Greek Wine and Greatness in as many markets as possible contributing through the 50GGW platform to the communication of a clear message: Greek wine is worth a top place in the mind of the international consumer.
