Greece at the global wine center!
On Thursday, 29/06, the participation of 50 Great Greek Wines (50 GGW) in the 10th Symposium of the Masters of Wine was successfully held. With over five hundred guests in attendance, the 50 GGW hosted together with Bollinger Champagne the Drinks Reception for the first day of the Symposium. Representing the 50 GGW were Yiannis Karakasis MW and Grigoris Michailos DipWSET.
Yiannis Karakasis MW, Founder & Managing Director, stated: “Among the 500 people participating in the Institute of Masters of Wine’s symposium with the theme ‘A Taste for the Future,’ the 50 Great Greek Wines had the opportunity to guide, for two whole hours, the crème de la crème of the global wine scene in a unique tasting of Greek wines. The distinguished participants had the chance to experience the depth, diversity, and greatness of Greek wine through 21 wines, presented at three different stands, which managed to provide an excellent representation of the Greek wine scene. Truly, it was packed until the last minute, and the feedback we received was enthusiastic both during the tasting and throughout the rest of the day wherever we were. Both myself and Grigoris Michailos are proud that Greek wine, through the 50 GGW, is an integral part of the global discussion at an event that is a milestone for the future of the wine industry.”
The 50 GGW participated as an official sponsor of this year’s event, which is considered one of the most significant wine events in the world, featuring 21 selections from the award-winning wines of the previous edition.
