Great Greek Wines Panorama in Warsaw

In recent years, Poland has been evolving into one of the most dynamic wine markets in Europe. With growing interest from both professionals and consumers in new origins and character driven quality wines, the country offers significant opportunities for Greek wine. Within this context, Great Greek Wines held the GGW Panorama in Warsaw on March 3, 2026, a series of initiatives aimed at further promoting Greek wine in this dynamic market.

First launched in 2024, GGW Panorama is now the leading international platform for the promotion of Great Greek Wines, offering participation to all wineries distinguished in the competition and creating a comprehensive picture of contemporary Greek winemaking.

For Greek wineries, Warsaw proved to be an important opportunity not only for visibility but also for meaningful engagement with key market players: importers, sommeliers, journalists, and HoReCa professionals.

At the heart of the initiative was the Panorama Walk Around Tasting, a professional tasting exclusively for trade, featuring 27 wineries. In total, more than 100 wines were presented. The physical presence of winery representatives added significant value to the event, enabling direct dialogue and meaningful B2B interactions with professionals from the Polish market.

The program was complemented by two Panorama Masterclasses, dedicated to different wine categories:

  • one focusing on white, rosé, and sparkling wines
  • and one on rosé and red wines

The masterclasses were led by Yiannis Karakasis MW and Wojciech Bońkowski MW, one of the most prominent experts and advocates of Greek wine in Poland.

The objectives of the initiative were multifaceted: to strengthen exports of Greek wineries, to support those already present in the market through new professional partnerships, and at the same time to reinforce the image of Greek wine as a modern and dynamic wine proposition.

Yiannis Karakasis MW commented: “Poland is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing wine markets in Europe, with a professional audience seeking authenticity, quality, and new wine stories. Through GGW Panorama, we aim to present a comprehensive picture of contemporary Greek wine, bringing wineries into direct contact with key market professionals. The physical presence of the producers themselves, dialogue with the trade, and collaboration with people who have deep knowledge of the market, such as Wojciech Bońkowski MW, create the conditions for meaningful partnerships and the gradual establishment of Greek wines in a market with strong potential.”

Grigoris Michailos DipWSET stated: “We expect to see positive results from this initiative soon, with new partnerships emerging in the market for the GGW wineries that participated, something that will ultimately define the success of the event.”

The presence of Great Greek Wines in Warsaw confirmed that Greek wine today possesses all the elements needed to stand out in markets that seek quality, authenticity, and heritage.
