The moment all Greek wine lovers have been waiting for is approaching! On Thursday, May 22, 2025, the iconic Hotel Grande Bretagne will host the grand awards ceremony of Great Greek Wines, an institution that highlights the excellence of Greek wine and its growing presence in international markets.

The new Great Greek Wines The List is eagerly anticipated after a year full of events in six European countries, including the UK, France, and the Netherlands. Now in its fourth edition, the institution strengthens its position as a reference point for Greek wine, reaffirming its connection to the country’s gastronomy and cultural heritage.

This year, for the first time, a special distinction called Great Value Wines will be awarded to 30 wines with a retail price of up to 19€, which stand out for their exceptional value for money, emphasizing accessible excellence.

The ceremony will bring together leading professionals from the Greek and international wine world, as well as wine lovers who share the same passion for wine. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses, taste the award-winning wines, and meet the winemakers behind the top labels.

The evening will be hosted by Myronas Stratis, while earlier in the Gold Room, a unique masterclass will take place with Julia Harding MW (author of The Wine Grapes and collaborator of JancisRobinson.com) and Yiannis Karakasis MW, founder of GGW. In this masterclass, the 12 wines that have transformed Greek wine through the Great Greek Wines lists will be presented.

All award-winning wines from Great Greek Wines and Great Value Wines will be available for tasting immediately after the ceremony, giving guests the opportunity to experience the best of Greek wine production up close.
