50 Greek Wines to Shine at Old Vine Conference Trade & Media Tasting

London’s prestigious wine club, 67 Pall Mall, will host one of the biggest wine tastings of the year on Wednesday, June 14th, with the Old Vine Conference trade, media, and member tasting. The event will feature over 120 wines from around the world, with a particular focus on old vine wines. Among them, a selection of 50 Great Greek Wines will be showcased, promising to impress and delight wine lovers and industry professionals alike.

The Old Vine Conference is a celebration of wines made from some of the oldest vines in the world. These vines, often over 50 years old and sometimes over a century old, produce grapes of exceptional quality, with concentrated flavors and aromas that reflect their unique terroir. They are also a testament to the rich history and heritage of winemaking, as many of these vines have been passed down through generations of winemakers.

Greece has a long and rich winemaking tradition, dating back to ancient times. Today, the country boasts a diverse range of grape varieties and wine styles, from crisp and refreshing whites to rich and complex reds. At the Old Vine Conference tasting, attendees will have the opportunity to sample some unique Greek wines, made from the emblematic indigenous varieties Assyrtiko and Xinomavro.

The wines that will be presented are:
1. Gavalas Winery, ”Enalia”, Assyrtiko, Santorini

2. Alpha Estate, ”Ecosystem Xinomavro Reserve Vieilles Vignes Single Block Barba Yannis”, Xinomavro, Amyndeo

3. Dougos Winery, Rapsani Old Vines, Xinomavro blend, Rapsani

4. Artemis Karamolegos Winery, ”Pyritis”, Assyrtiko, Santorini

5. Argyros Estate, ”Cuvée Monsignori”, Assyrtiko, Santorini

6. Oenops Wines Xinomavraw, Macedonia

The event promises to be an exciting and educational experience for anyone interested in wine. In addition to the walk-around tasting, there will be masterclasses and seminars on topics such as the history and culture of old vine wines, the science of vine aging, and the impact of terroir on wine flavor. Attendees will also have the chance to meet and network with winemakers, sommeliers, and other industry professionals.

In the evening, the tasting room of the Old Vine Conference trade & media tasting will be opened exclusively to members of 67 Pall Mall, considered to be the most private and exclusive wine club in the world.

The presence of 50 Great Greek Wines at the Old Vine Conference trade & media tasting highlights the growing reputation and quality of Greek wines in the global wine industry.
