50 GGW Goes Big in London: May 28 & 29

Under the auspices of Greek National Tourism Organisation

We are thrilled to announce an exciting milestone for 50 Great Greek Wines (50 GGW) as we gear up for our inaugural Mega Εvent in the United Kingdom, continuing our efforts to establish a robust presence in key international markets.

The United Kingdom represents a pivotal market for Greece, offering immense potential for growth and recognition. Through a series of premier events and initiatives which are under the auspices of Greek National Tourism Organisation, we are aiming to solidify our position and elevate awareness for 50 GGW and the exceptional wineries it showcases.

Set to take place on Wednesday, May 29th, our Grand Walk Around Tasting featuring 33 wineries and more than 150 wines, promises to be a highlight of the wine calendar. It will take place in the heart of London’s dynamic Soho district at the China Exchange – Venue Monchu Hall. With an emphasis on quality and diversity, attendees can expect to sample wines from the 50 GGW list alongside additional labels from each producer’s portfolio. Approximately 150 wines will be offered.

50 GGW Goes Big in London” epitomizes our commitment to fostering meaningful connections and opportunities within the global wine community. Industry leaders, including representatives from the On-trade, Off-trade, and journalists, will converge to explore the rich offerings of Greek wine. Moreover, this event presents a prime opportunity for wine importers seeking new and exciting partnerships to engage with top-tier producers.

In anticipation of our main event, a special Masterclass led by Stefan Neumann MS and Yiannis Karakasis MW will precede the festivities on Tuesday, May 28th. This exclusive session will offer a deep dive into select wines from the 50 GGW list, providing participants with invaluable insights and tasting experiences.

The culmination of our London initiative will be a collaborative endeavour with Ekstedt at the Yard, the celebrated restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Niklas Ekstedt. On the evening of May 29th, a bespoke food and wine-pairing dinner will showcase the exquisite synergy between Greek wines and Ekstedt’s innovative culinary creations. Guided by the discerning palate of Executive Sommelier Klearchos Kanelakis, this gastronomic journey promises to be a memorable celebration of Greek culture and hospitality.
